“Dribbling Geriatrics” – Consensus Business Group & Peverel Group
This was the term used by a Mr Ian Rapley of Consensus/Peverel on BBC Breakfast this morning when being interviewed about the management of sheltered accommodation.
The man is a fool and an oaf and should be sacked immediately. I eventually managed to track down his companies. Peverel say they are “disgusted” by the way he behaved and that in fact he is not part of their company but part of their “owners”, Consensus Business Group. It, in turn, is owned by Vincent Tchenguiz, one of the richest men in the country.
I am usually complaining about people being too politically correct but this is a prime example of pompous, insensitive, ignorant and unforgiveable rudeness. There can be no excuse.

You have been able to do more research than me-I too hold the veiw that political correctness is ridiculous in this country and taken to extremes being hijacked by some to achieve their own aims. However in this case, it shows up the secret thinking of the man and some in general in this country towards those in need…………the elderly, and those who have served the younger generation. It also shows up the financial aspect because of it’s context-big monied organisations making money out of the less able…….

Ian Rapley Disowned

I was watching BBC Breakfast when Ian Rapley uttered his disgraceful insult, and for a moment I couldn’t have been more pleased. In my opinion it’s absolutely indicative of this company’s attitude to its customers which I found to be arrogant, cynical and greedy.
On the face of it they portray a caring, efficient company but behind the scene I suspect its do as little as possible and charge as much as you can. (I wonder how many of their clients know Peverel collect ‘Nectar’ business points on the electricty bills their clients pay for!)
Our block of flats has just fired Peverel after 3 years and taken control of management ourselves. The savings are huge. We cancelled our block insurance through Peverel and our rebate for the HALF YEAR remaining is over £525. Our new annual policy is just £250 per annum. A saving of 75% on one item alone. Not having Peverel as Management Company – is a huge wonderful sense of relief to all the flat owners.
