    • No one is standing as a CLEAR candidate in these elections. It is a shame that we were unable to participate in the Welsh Assembly or Scottish Parliament elections. That will have to wait until next time.

I plan to stand in the next parliamentary by-election, wherever it is but it depends on what deals we might do with other parties. We are still evolving our election strategy. I don’t think we should focus on winning seats but on gaining influence and that may mean agreeing not to stand. Each case will be judged individually depending on the opportunities available.

    • We will support candidates who wish to stand in council elections but local government has little influence over drugs policy so it is not central to our strategy.

      • But surely being able to win a seat would be great for our cause, being able to have a voice at westminster.

      • It would be fabulous and I would love to be an MP but we are a single issue party. It would be a mistake to concentrate our efforts on unrealistic goals.

  6. Please bare with me on this.

Having visited the country a number of times, I love Germany and the German people are great – in fact they remind me a lot of British people.

Anyway – watching this film, it is hard to then see how use of medical cannabis is somehow the cause of problems in mexico – and yet the German president yesterday claims European drug use is.

  7. Nick Clegg did the same thing a few weeks back when he was in Mexico.
The phrase ‘two-faced’ is often an under-estimate..

  8. Peter is bang on the money again when he talks about evolving the election strategy, agreeing not to stand against a Plaid Cymru candidate on condition they push the issue is a real possibility here in Wales.

Labour may very well get a majority here tomorrow.. hope not but there you go, next time around though Plaid will not want someone taking votes of them for something that is written into their own constitution.
