The Final Nail in the Conservatives’ Coffin: Suella Braverman

with 4 comments

Oh, that Britain is brought so low as this.

Our shame that we have brought generations of overseas people to our shores and that some of them have become the most racist and xenophobic of our citizens.

Succeeding and reprising another Asian woman whose family was rescued by British asylum, Suella Braverman is the nadir of Home Secretaries, a ‘nasty party’ caricature of spite, authoritarianisim and hate.

Anyone who can “dream” of seeing refugees deported to Rwanda is either fundamentally evil or mentally ill. Flying people applying for asylum 4,000 miles to a country that is notorious for human rights abuses is, by any reasonable assessment, a crime.

As for her idiotic pronouncements on drugs policy, I’m not going to waste my time on them. They are so stupid and so opposed to the evidence, they say everything about her that needs to be said.

And she’s a security risk with repeated breaches of the ministerial code. Sunak’s government is doomed and he’s wrecked the slight chance he did have of survival by appointing this awful, despicable woman.

The State Of Israel According To Iran

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran

I am more than a little concerned about this pre-planned walkout in response to President Ahmadinejad’s speech at the United Nations anti-racism conference.  I am no friend of his xenophobic, oppressive government and there is no doubt that his speech was inflammatory but there was a deal of truth in it too.  This walkout was not in the spirit of  “We will offer the hand of friendship if you will unclench your fist”.

There is no doubt that Israel is a racist government and a repressive and cruel one.  These are matters of fact which were dramatically proved in the recent invasion of Gaza and which continue every day.

The boycott of this conference by many western countries and this petulant display by the British and the French do nothing to advance the cause against racism.
