Britain Is Burning

with 19 comments

The police are taking backhanders
Our MPs are fiddling their expenses
The media break the law without compunction
The bankers have looted our economy
Our politicians are sunning themselves in luxury
How do you expect young people to behave?

  1. I think you have summed up the situation very accurately Peter. The writing is on the wall, the rioters are in the streets and STILL the shover-ment won’t listen.

  2. Quite right the Mp’s are Very quick to condem the riots, but you never hear them comment on why the riots are occurring.

The whole system needs a MASSIVE shake up people have finally had enough of the corrupt B*stards

  3. the youth are doing this because they have nothing, and have little to look forward to. Politicians should learn from this.

  4. Can you see the ‘Stoners’ sitting around the table saying “yeah lets burn down london”

    or

Is it more likely a few people had a few drinks and got a little carried away with their rage?

My bet is the Stoners are the ones watching it on TV, burning a joint instead of hundreds of peoples homes…

  5. im watching bbc news and its a joke “disgraceful mindless criminals” why are they? because they grow up with No opportunity No chance in life and watch the other half get handed everything on a silver platter. This is what happens in an unequal society. The goverments over the last thirty years have been a joke pandering to the upper classes

  6. I hope the police and mp’s learn a lesson from this but sadley im afraid they will miss it yet again.

the public will just want the criminals locking up and then just go back to the same same same

  7. Absolutely, and they see their services being cut and their communities dying, whilst money is being poured into The London Games (plug there, Peter), and plans are under way to waste £32bn on an unnecessary, environmentally damaging high speed rail line.

  10. exactly,,,,automatic mainstream dinosaur media response is solely focusing on the effect ,and not the cause,,,,theyre quick to demonise civilians,,but the biggest bunch of crooks in existence are exempt from any of their sick, dirty ,corrupt ways,,,,everyone just demonise the little folk and worship the mafia government criminals, thats the message im recieving from any news source.Just not quite worded the same. The crooked government attack us on the regular, they just dont do it on camera. Those who are looting are little angels compared to the sick vile powers that rob us all year round.

  11. Wondering if there will be a new bonfire night after this to bury the real reason of it happening? I hope it gets some organization soon and then make some leeway as a real revolution :’)

  12. Well, it is probably too late but the penny has finally dropped on the Inspector Gadget blog.

Purely of academic interest if you fancy a look, Peter.

  13. Hi Peter, can’t agree with you guys on this occasion. Last night and today all I’ve heard is people trying to politicize these current problems. We hear its in response to the death of the lad with the gun and its because the youth of today have little or no opportunity.

Lets be honest here !! This is all bull and excuses and an opportunity to wave the raciest flag.

For one. Duggen had gun, real or fake. People who walk, run or sit with what can only be viewed as a lethal weapon with no real understanding of what he may or may not do run the risk of paying the ultimate price.

Duggen paid. He lost all rights when deemed a real and present danger to society. I take no pleasure in his death but those are the real facts.

As far as the rest of the mob are concerned…their motives are far from political they are simply doing what adolescent children do when there is no rule of law and no motivation not to conform. Teenagers love to take advantage, its what many of them do. They are doing this for kicks and personal gain (looting)

Lets not over intellectualise this behavior there simply is no excuse.

I agree that many politicians have no morals. I agree that as in any organisation the police inevitably have bad elements and that the riot shields should be swapped for bankers but, don’t agree that these kids are doing this for anything other than sheer fun.

We (the adults0 live in this same world and we wouldn’t dream of doing this !

    • I know the junction in Clapham by Debenhams like the back of my hand. I have queued for hours in the post office that the armoured police vehicles were rolling by last night. It was my home and it makes it feel very close, very real. Two, three mornings every week I used to go through that door at Debenhams and buy myself a pasty from their snack bar for breakfast. I couldn’t help but weep just a little as I watched events unfold.

The scumbags need to be rounded up, caged, sent to bootcamp for six months, then two years enforced community service 40 hours per week, cleaning toilets, real hard work.

Our politicians are responsible. They have denied our youth a future and deserve disgrace, condemnation and loss of office.

On Mark Duggan, he had a gun so he should have expected to be shot.

  14. I want to agree with you regarding the politicians but on this I can’t. We make our own luck in life.Yes, those without work are in hard times but, those who go the extra mile who show commitment to making lives for themselves can find hope. Hope is ours to give ourselves. Our history is full of scum politicians, I wonder some times if its the only real qualification required for the job yet, those before and those after us will find a way. They always have they always will. Sorry Peter, you have my greatest respect but we can’t pin this on the rich tossers in Whitehall. Anything worth having is worth working for and if people look hard enough they find what they are looking for. Many of our so called youth don’t look and the one’s that do, if they keep looking, will be rewarded. You and I started at the bottom and many of these little people think the bottom is below them. We all start somewhere. I don’t believe its a generation without hope but it is a generation with a job before them so, they best roll up there sleeves and get stuck in.

Thats what you a I did ! There simply is no other way.
