Does Marriage Guidance Counselling Work?
I was asked this question just the other day.
My ex-wife was a marriage guidance counsellor but when I asked she refused to go to counselling with me!
She did agree eventually and we went to two or three sessions until she stormed out saying the counsellor was biased in my favour!
We are now divorced but I understand her career in marriage guidance counselling has gone from strength to strength.
Make of that what you will.
She can see both sides now! So long as you are happy now peter!

Oh Peter – this is such a prickly topic and this could be a long script; however, suffice to say, people are more objective when it comes to others than they are about themselves. Maybe your wife can see the fault lines in other peoples’ relationship but could not do so with her own because that would have meant taking responsibility and then facilitating change – a tall order. It is easy to talk the talk, more difficult to walk the walk…
