Broken Society. Broken Britain. Brokenshire.
Given his increasingly authoritarian, “big government” stance, his misrepresentation of science and the deeply flawed, dishonest Home Office Drugs Strategy consultation, James Brokenshire is proving himself to be a very dangerous young man.
If any coalition minister is pursuing policies that will lead to a broken society and a broken Britain, it is Brokenshire. He is so far out of step with the progressive, liberal and intelligent direction of the government that one wonders has he been put out for sacrifice? His attitude and ideas are those of a previous generation which had not yet made all the mistakes or suffered all the consequences that we already have. He needs to study some history.
From Propostion 19 to the changing views of Latin America’s leaders, Brokenshire is way, way behind. He is also in direct contradiction to the progressive policies which both Cameron and Clegg have supported in the past.
It is vital for the future of millions of British citizens, their health, liberty, freedom from crime and oppression that Brokenshire is stopped. As a Tory I am also dismayed at the huge damage he is doing to the party. He is making the coalition government look short sighted, regressive and stupid. He has got to go.
See here for the story on Nominative Determinism. What does a man’s name mean?

You’re not wrong.
This video makes me slap my head twice over:
Why have we regressed when the rest of the world has moved forward? Why do they STILL try and perpetuate myth of the harms of cannabis? Did they learn nothing from the Professor Nutt affair? Have they truly not read a single word of the Your Freedom site?
It’s just a reiteration of the same old dusty lines, the same old “looking tough”, it is going to strangle the country, I really do think that the majority of politicians are so removed from actual society now that some kind of revolution is the only option left. What is it going to take?!!

Blimey, you dont like James do you? The last post you put up accused him of being a ‘hanger and flogger’ when he has been against the death penalty since year dot(well researched chaps! LOL) and has always been happy to declare his view on that issue, when a clear majority of the grass roots of the party and the wider population, myself included, strongly believe in it.
I worry that people like you are actually in the Tory Party. I think Cameron and Clegg should be too, to be honest…

Thanks for your comment. I don’t know James. It’s his policies that worry me. I think he’s very misguided and extremely dangerous. He horrifies me. I didn’t even consider his actual views on the death penalty. My remarks weren’t meant literally. They were intended to characterise his attitude. In fact I said “He comes across as not just a hanger and flogger but a hanger, drawer and quarterer – and that’s just for parking tickets.” So I think it’s pretty clear I wasn’t being literal!
Personally I’m completely opposed to the death penalty. On the other hand, I would advocate political assassination rather than say invading Iraq or tolerating people like Mladic/Karadic or Mugabe. So it takes all sorts doesn’t it? The Tory party is a broad church.
I really don’t understand your last sentence. Would you like to clarify?

“….should be…”, what?
In the Tory Party?
Pardon me for stating the bleedin’ obvious, but one is and one appears to be trying very hard to be. I’ll leave it to others to decide which is which.

You just need to look at the smirk on this little boys face to see the kind of worm that he is.

I have nothing against him personally but he’s an idiot and he’s causing immense damage to the country the government and the Tory party. David Cameron, wake up!
