An Extraordinary Man. A Hero Of Our Time.

Congratulations to Alex Salmond who resigns with perfect timing and deserves great honour and respect for his considerable achievements.

Few of his contemporaries in public office can match him for courage, integrity and success.

Compared to him, Cameron, Miliband, every other UK politician is small.  Salmond is a man of international stature.

  1. A fat ass nationalist socialist hate mongering bigot with delusions of grandeur, in other words his mummy pulled him off while watching too many Braveheart re-runs, like the rest of his kind.

    Good riddance to the bastard.

    • Charming! I only publish this spiteful comment so you can make a fool of yourself in public.

  2. I can’t agree Peter, everything I have read and witnessed myself mean I have the opposite opinion, I think if Salmond had not been involved in the campaign Scotland would have voted yes. The amount of times he dined with Rupert Murdoch over the years puts Osbourne and Cameron in the shade, whilst tying very hard to hide the truth, these fact alone makes him of huge dubious character.

    • Well I don’t know Andrew. My opinion is based on what I’ve seen and read. I have seen some truly disgusting attacks on him but he seems a man of courage and honour to me. All politicians sup with devils such as Murdoch. He’s a major media owner. You can’t ignore him.

  3. All politicians of all parties and persuasions receive abuse and attacks, its par for the course, some far worse than others yes! Receiving attacks does not always make one courageous or honourable, the worst example recently, in my opinion, that I can think of is the daily mail attacking Milibands family, the way he responded to that was honourable and dignified. Does not make him a good or honest politician. The speech gordon brown gave outside number 10 with his family after leaving office was honourable and dignified, did not make him a good successful politician. From what I can tell Salmond is not that well liked in Scotland, but that is true of any politician anywhere, I believe Gordon is generally more liked. Salmond was obsessed with independence so he could be remembered in the history books, I wanted independence for Scotland because I like change of any kind for good or bad, mixing it up never hurts. My feeble reasoning is no better than Salmonds he didn’t really know what he was doing, no credible economic vision was the most disastrous aspect of his campaign, he had opportunities to really put Scotland at the forefront of how a future economy can work, he missed a big trick in not looking at a bitcoin like currency like the Icelandic have done, but his interest was not the details that would have made Scotland a leading light but simply independence itself after which he would have enjoyed the love in then the gulping would have started when he had no real idea what to do. On an international level he would have looked way out of depth, imagine him going to china, our politicians have been the laughing stock of new powerhouses for decades, he would have been at the front of the queue for this laughter. He is like a Scottish john Prescott, noisy at times but generally irrelevant. I wonder what he would have done when the islands far north demanded independence from Scotland and all their oil that goes with it? now that would have been fun and I am annoyed we did not get to see that play out. Yeah I get the Murdoch business, the more people try to hide things the more they have to hide! there was something very fishy going on with them two.

  4. I never heard Alex Salmond describe cannabis as ‘lethal’.

(Just seen that Mark Reckless is defecting to UKIP! Who said he was stupid…?)
