There Are Few People Whose Passing We Should Celebrate But Ariel Sharon Is One.

The Butcher Sharon

The Butcher Sharon

In 1983, the Israeli Kahan Commission found that Ariel Sharon bore personal responsibility for the massacre of between 762 and 3,500 civilians.  Read about the Sabra and Shatila massacre here.

That even in the eyes of the Israeli state, Sharon was deemed a war criminal places his record in its true context.  His body now putrefies alongside Hitler, Stalin, Hussein and Gaddafi in its proper place.

The only regret the world should have is that he was not brought to justice and hanged from the neck until he was dead. I oppose capital punishment but for monsters like Sharon I would gladly make an exception.

Another Police Execution. Another Shameful Day For The Banana Republic Of Britain.

with 4 comments

Murdered

Murdered

The British police have descended into almost universal distrust.  No one except the most naive of pensioners now believes in the myth of the British bobby.

The disgraceful record of deaths in police custody and the absolute lack of action on it by the police, the IPCC or the government tells its own story. Mark Duggan’s murder, whatever sort of lowlife he was, is yet more proof, if any was needed, that the police are out of control and our courts and regulatory system are incapable of restraining them

Banana-2Britain is a shadow of the great nation it once was.  Chris Grayling, our so-called justice minster is systematically removing access to justice from everyone except the rich.   There is no longer any trust in the law, let alone its institutions and least of all those, like Grayling and Hogan-Howe, who are in charge.

The banana republic of Britain is here.

Our Princess. 31st August 1997.

princessdianaI found this in the course of a major clean out of my office over Christmas and New Year.

I wrote it in Kuwait on the last day of a month-long assignment with the DDB Kuwait advertising agency, working on the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation account.  Being so far away from home, woken early in the morning with the tragic news, made it all the more poignant.  Later that day I flew back to the UK, in itself an extraordinary experience, the whole plane in mourning.  The British stiff upper lip forgotten, so many people openly weeping.

Extraordinary events leave extraordinary memories.

At 7.00am this morning, having talked late into the night with the CEO of DDB Kuwait, I awoke in his house to the news of Princess Diana’s death, probably well before most people in the UK had heard. I remember the moment when I awoke to my alarm radio telling me John Lennon was shot and, when at the age of seven I walked across the road from school and saw a picture of the dead Bobby Kennedy sprawled across the floor, filling the front page of the evening paper.  Now, today, the day I am to leave Kuwait, a day which seemed so significant already, has become a momentous day.

Overwhelmingly though, what matters is two boys, just a little older than my own, whose lives are shattered, who must feel so lonely, hurt and desperate at the moment.  They need to deal with what none of us can deal with but also with the nation, with destiny, with the world grieving, angry, outraged.  I cry for them.

The fairy tale is over and happily ever after was not to be.  But our Princess can now achieve more than ever before.  She has the ultimate victory over her detractors.  She is triumphant.

Perhaps, more so because I am here, so far away, I feel this deeply.  The mullah cries out as I write.  I feel I hear him cry in mourning.  I know that my country will be shattered.  Things have changed.  It will be so strange to fly back in tomorrow morning.  I cannot imagine, cannot conceive the feeling that must be there.  Talal tells me how he felt the day Kuwait was invaded.  Now I understand.

Cry with me for the boys.  Their mother is now, perhaps always was, an angel.

I Stand With Nigella and Against The Disgusting Fleet Street Mafia And Oppressive British Police.

with 17 comments

nigella-446696

Nothing better demonstrates the venal, self-serving and foul behaviour of British newspaper editors than the abuse of Nigella.

Their corrupt, dishonest perversion of journalism and their subversion of the Leveson Inquiry is proven beyond any doubt.

Parliament established a judicial inquiry to investigate the culture and practices of the newspaper industry.  It was found to be engaged in criminal and reprehensible behaviour at every level.  Yet now,  it has used its power to undermine our democratic process and return to the sort of conduct that all decent people find unacceptable.

The slimeballs at Scotland Yard also show their true colours, nothing to do with the law or justice, in a knee jerk response to the shrieking, baying mob of the Fleet Street mafia.

It is not against any UK law to use any drug except opium. You have to prove possession, supply, production or importation. There is no reasonable prospect of any charges against Nigella getting past the most junior court clerk.  That senior police sources should even hint at such a course calls for charges of misconduct in public office.  This is abuse by police officers when what they are supposed to do is protect.

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters Sparks Fury By Comparing Israel To The Nazis.

The parallels between Israel and Germany in the 1930s are ‘crushingly obvious’.

Source: theguardian.com

He’s right. The Israeli state is engaged in brutal subjugation of the Palestinians in exactly the same way as the Nazis treated the Jews.

It’s not on the same scale. Netanyahu isn’t herding millions into gas chambers but the effect is the same on each individual.  The level of immorality is the same and the vile, zionist state of Israel will persist in infamy for the rest of history just as the Nazis. As will those who comprise the despicable US Israel lobby, members of which are complict in the genocide. Palestinians may not die from Zyklon B, instead it is white phosphorous, tanks and F16s against civilians and guerilla resistance.

Of course, just as in Germany in the 1930s, there will be many innocents who oppose their own government’s actions.  Clearly, many Israelis are good people but there are also worryingly large numbers who are apathetic or ambivalent at a time when courage in the face of evil is a moral duty.

I first wrote similar words on this website in 2009 since when I have been been systematically harassed and abused, not just by zionists but by the sort of scum who will twist any strongly-held opinion to their own, dishonest ends.  My articles have been edited to portray me as an anti-semite and shared across the world to demonise me. I have had hate websites and Facebook pages set up about me. My children and elderly parents have been harassed and abused.  In 2012, the hatred and continuing abuse severly affected my health.  It still continues to this day although I have learned better how to cope with it.

Inevitably, when I became a public figure and was elected as leader of CLEAR, my articles were used against me.  Even those who had recognised my support for Palestine, as soon as they saw they could distort my opinions to their advantage, blatantly reversed their position, embarked on a construction of lies and untruths against me.

When, in due course, in the High Court, the depth of their dishonesty becomes clear, it is their own words that will condemn them to all who believed their lies.

But such men are pygmies compared to those who have the courage to speak the truth in the face of evil.  Just like the monsters who drive the Israeli machine of oppression, judgment will be visited on them in the end.

I shall have to dig out my old Floyd LPs.  It is rewarding to find support in old friends.

Chris Grayling, The Lord Chancellor, Takes Hard Line On Cannabis.

with 3 comments

I understand why the giant intellects of our legal profession resent this man who is the first non-lawyer in 340 years to be appointed to the exalted role of Lord Chancellor.

It would be fair to say that his record as a shadow minister and then Minister of State for Employment is mediocre at best.  He is not a justice minister in the relatively liberal style of Kenneth Clarke.  A ‘hardliner’ they call him.  He channels the ‘something of the night‘ that defined his former colleague Michael, now Lord Howard.  He certainly fits with the idea of the Tories being the ‘nasty party’.

There are few more unsympathetic, merciless and intolerant members of parliament.  It’s not clear what other qualities he has that have earned his high office. No surprise then that his opinion on cannabis should be as bigoted and vacuuous as he demonstrated this week.

“I’ve always taken the view that the medical reasons for not going down that road are pretty compelling. I’ve talked to many doctors over the years who have highlighted the links between cannabis use and mental health problems.”

Source: Wales Online

He’s simply repeating the government’s tired and false propaganda.

The links between cannabis use and mental health problems are tenuous to say the least. Despite a massive worldwide increase in cannabis use since the 1960s, rates of psychosis and schizophrenia are declining.

The scare stories and myths promoted by the tabloid press do not stand up to investigation. The facts  of NHS hospital admissions and the National Drug Treatment Monitoring Service (inconveniently for government propagandists and tabloid editors) show that cannabis is a very small contributor to mental health problems, insignificant in public health terms.

The real reason Grayling and his cabinet colleagues want to continue the ban on cannabis is that they fear the consequences of legalisation on the alcohol industry which, as we know, successive governments just roll over for in dutiful compliance.

The ban on cannabis has never had anything to do with health concerns. It’s about vested interests and corrupt and weak politicians. The truth is people like Grayling don’t give a damn about the terrible toll that alcohol takes on our society.  They care not one jot for the liberty of the  individual or the hundreds of thousands who are criminalised fro using cannabis as medicine.

Grayling has never been the sharpest knife in the kitchen cabinet but at least he can be relied on to toe the party line. This is the true worth of most of our cabinet ministers.

Obama Gets It At Last. Ignore Israel.

obama-best

Of course Israel’s interests must be taken into account but the deal with Iran is the right way forward. Israel has been allowed to get away with far too much for far too long. It is the major cause of conflict across the world. It must moderate its aggression and learn to live with its neighbours.  It must hand back what it has stolen and learn to use its military might responsibly and in accordance with international law.

UK’s ‘Cruel and Corrupt’ Medicinal Cannabis Policy Exposed By CNN’s Dr Sanjay Gupta.

with one comment

This clip is from ‘Sanjay Gupta MD’, CNN’s regular medical affairs programme.  It was broadcast on Saturday, 16th November 2013.

An hour-long documentary is to follow, probably in March 2014, when Dr Gupta will expose the terrible cruelty, hypocrisy, dishonesty and corruption which is UK policy on medicinal cannabis. The programme will investigate GW Pharmaceuticals and its cannabis medicines Sativex and Epidiolex.  It will also feature Bedrocan and its grow facility in Holland and look in detail at the process CLEAR has developed which has so far enabled five members successfully to import medicinal cannabis to the UK.

Although the UK government claims that cannabis has“no medicinal value”, it has licensed GW Pharmaceuticals to grow massive quantities of the plant which it then processes into its hugely expensive medicines.  The license, which was issued for research purposes only, was operated unlawfully between 2003, when Sativex became a commercial product, until March 2013 when the Home Secretary retrospectively legalised it.

Most CCGs refuse to provide Sativex because it is so expensive.  A month’s prescription of Sativex costs the NHS £560.00.  The equivalent from Bedrocan costs between £35.00 and £105.00 depending on which product is prescribed.

Successive governments have failed to act in the interests of British citizens.  Ministers have refused even to consider a change in policy and have ignored or rejected all the efforts of CLEAR and other groups to present evidence and make a case on behalf of those who need cannabis as medicine.

Even though medicinal cannabis was the subject most often mentioned in the written evidence to the recent Home Affairs select committee drugs inquiry, it was ignored.  No evidence was heard on the subject and no questions were asked.

Peter Reynolds, president and elected leader of CLEAR, commented:

“UK policy on medicinal cannabis is cruel and corrupt.  While ministers refuse even to consider reform despite overwhelming scientific evidence, hundreds of thousands of British people persist in pain, suffering and disability which could be relieved by cannabis.  The police are used as armed enforcers of GW Pharmaceuticals’ unlawful monopoly, arresting and even imprisoning sick people who are merely trying to improve their health.  I want to thank Dr Gupta for his work.  While he has travelled thousands of miles to tell this story, UK government ministers hide in their offices with their fingers in their ears.”

WATCH HERE

Well I thought it was excellent.  The only complaint I have is some wild and ridiculous claims about the value of cannabis plants.  Other than that, the film did an excellent job of making the case for regulation.  It must have been crystal clear to anyone watching it that present policy is idiotic, self-defeating and causes far more harm than it prevents.

Well Done Stuart!

Well Done Stuart!

My former colleague on the CLEAR executive, Stuart Warwick, was the star of the show.  He came across as warm, humane and truly sensible.  He was also the only man with the balls to show his face.  Well done Stuart!

The dealers and grow robbers were blindfolded with their voices disguised.  Even Orson Boon, promoter of the London Cannabis Club (LCC), was too scared to show his face.  So it was ironic in the extreme that he stole the words I have published so often that “cannabis is not a subculture but a mainstream issue”.  I admire the LCC’s entertaining Facebook page where it publishes some delicious photos of weed and buds but it is the very essence of the cannabis subculture.  It is for the nerdy tomato grower when 99% of us buy them at the supermarket!  This is exactly what needs to change.

All in all, a very good programme.  I hope it does some good.
