Peter, you like remarkably like Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull in that shot, around the time of the ‘Heavy Horses’ album 🙂 …… sorry, back to business, great stuff!
A visual representation of extreme schizophrenia, Mr Reynolds sometimes believes he is a horrible little twerp called “Peter Hitchens”. It is thought that Mr Reynolds uses this alternative personality to vent any need to be ignorant
I wrote my full 500 word limit on the irritating Hitchens’s Blogg yesterday, and it didn’t accept it.
I’m so annoyed I’m going to try and repost it here!
Utter nonsense from Mr Hitchens as usual, his one man crusade against cannabis based on his own repugnant moral dilemmas amuse me, but concurrently send me into a furious rage sometimes. How on earth can a learned man, who has travelled extensively be so blind to the real reasons for prohibitions continuation?
Capitalisation not only of industries, but of ideas & solutions seems to have been the remit of our rulers, certainly for the past two decades. Peter points to this recently in his article detailing the NHS as a sickness maintenance service. My assertion is that prohibition is maintained primarily by a greedy judiciary, lawyers, civilian investigators operating in police stations and laterally, the police themselves, prison guards, probation officers etc.
Their collective dinner ticket is the status quo of prohibition, where everybody is failed. Peters answer of abstinence reminds me of Agness Weston’s pledge, a naive effort by an unrealistic, conceited, puritanical prig who bases his opinions on spite & malevolence.
An attitude of righteous retribution ( in the form of Criminal Justice ) as a reward for conforming to a national policy of abstinence, and being disappointed when there are not enough cells for those who choose not to unquestioningly obey these dubious laws is both grossly immature & self defeating for the country as a whole.
One final note, as a HIV+ medicinal user of cannabis I do not use the drug with tobacco. Neither do millions of bong & pipe smokers all over the world, which is why the issue of ” Marijuana cancer” is often discussed over the pond.
Nothing anybody says will ever convince Mr Hitchens of the irrationality of his position, not even his God can convince him that he has given us cannabis.
“Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food” Genesis 1:29
certain theological interpretations will have it, that that does or does not include cannabis, but if I had gotten myself into a state of belief whereby I was set to confront the eternal creator of all upon my death, I would not have spent a life in print denouncing His answer to collagen induced arthritis! the jolly best of luck to you, I say!
yours sincerely

With people like that sneaking up on you, you’ll need to relocate your extra set of eyes from the top of your head to the back.
