Nineteen Nervous Breakdown

with 9 comments

I am worried about the neck and neck race in California.   The polls are getting tighter and tighter.  If Proposition 19 fails it will be a disaster for the cannabis campaign.  Certainly in Britain, no politician will want to know.  They will say if you can’t get California to vote for it, there are no votes in it at all.

It could knock us back at least five years.

That’s why it’s essential that we win.  Whatever it takes.  The polls say it depends on turnout by young voters so please, get the lazy stoners off their backsides and down to the polling booth.

Now is the time to get serious and take responsibility.  Don’t let us down now!

GO CALIFORNIA!  We’re depending on you!

  3. If the proposition does not pass in California it won’t be the end of the world. I thought we were there 20 years ago here in Canada. Then a bunch of self-inflated ignorant right wingers took the reign of power and here we are.
I’ve switched my thinking on it. I tell everyone I meet, if the subject comes up, that I do consume cannabis. You know, the “I don’t do drugs, I smoke weed” bit. There aren’t enough jails in the world to hold all the cannabis users.
It’s political, no ? So I am advocating, tongue in cheek of course, for the crucification of bankers and all right wing “thinkers”. Right wing thinkers is an oxymoron, isn’t it ?

    • I can’t agree with you on the wild generalisations about the right wing Lou. I describe my politics as right wing libertarian.

To my mind, it’s the right wing that stands for individual liberty and freedom. Socialism is about dumbing down and restricting choice. More than that, you should see how the last appalling Labour government here was repressive, secretive, top-down authoritarian, cynical, protectionist, liars and dissemblers.

      • Pete I love your stuff, but the New Labour government of 1997-2010 was Neo-Con to the extreme, and you know it. They sold everything! how can they be socialist? just because the Rose was red does not mean that their blood wasn’t Blue.

  5. Cannibis is a drug: QED.

No different from Insulin, Phenobarbitone, clonzepan,Heroin even tobacco.

Unless under control they are bloody dangerous.

Anybody denying that is clearly a Junky or a Pusher; and that includes the Government because they know smoking tobbacco is addicative raise the levy, and yet know they have bunch of people who will never get off the addiction. Income guaranteed.

Government (whichever colour) = Pusher .

  6. The solution is to decriminalise the drugs in a manner that will allow much harder crack-downs on misuse and bad behaviour around use. I can’t buy more than 16 aspirins FFS!

  7. The good news is that California will vote again in 2012.

Medical cannabis is now legal in Arizona too.
Pity we cant get the same momentum in the UK
