Killer Cop Harwood Must Be Charged

with 2 comments

Incompetent And Corrupt

The only even half-excuse that Keir Starmer, the DPP, had for not charging PC Simon Harwood over the death of Ian Tomlinson was disagreement among pathologists.   As it was, he should have allowed a jury to determine which pathologist to believe.  Now, Dr Freddy Patel, who wasn’t even qualified to carry out the post mortem in the first place, has been found guilty of misconduct by the General Medical Council.

Killer

Richard Davies, chairman of the GMC panel said in relation to another case that Patel should not have set aside his “professional judgement for any of the parties involved during or after a post-mortem examination for reasons of expediency or anything else”.  Patel’s credibility is therefore shot to pieces.  No jury could choose to believe him in the Tomlinson case, particularly when the other two pathologists were both agreed on their diagnosis.

There is therefore no reason now not to charge Harwood and there must be a better than even chance of his conviction for manslaughter.

Starmer has a chance to try to rescue his reputation.  He should grab it with both hands immediately.

A Fundamental Problem At The BBC

with 3 comments

I am very close to being the BBC’s biggest fan.  It is a remarkable and entirely unique institution.  Somehow it occupies a place between the state and the people which I can find no comparison for.  It would be easy to define it as some sort of socialist idea but it is genuinely independent from the state.  I do, however, have some concerns about its accountability.  I am very concerned about the way it handles complaints.

No Complaints Accepted Here

I have grown up with the BBC and I trust it.  In fact, I think that it’s done a better job of maintaining Britishness and values of integrity, tolerance, fairness and justice than any UK government of any political complexion.  That’s why the curmudgeons in all political parties turn against it.  I think Jeremy Hunt’s recent attacks and comments were particularly poorly judged.  He hasn’t a had a good start in government at all has he?

I made a complaint to the BBC recently and I am very, very unhappy about the way it has been handled.   The subject is not relevant here.  I shall write about it in future but for now it would distract from my point.  I am horrified to discover that the BBC does not handle complaints itself.   They are outsourced to Capita in Belfast which describes itself as “the UK’s leading outsourcing company…at the leading edge of redefining and transforming services to the public.”  For me that needs a huge pinch of salt, a mountain in fact and even then I’m choking on it.

Handling complaints should be at the very heart of an organisation.  It is the essence of your brand.  There is no more important management function.  Contracting them out is an abdication of responsibility.  More than that, it is a complete failure of integrity, a massive mistake.   If an organisation is truly committed to meeting its customers’ needs it must be as close to them as possible.  This irresponsibility strikes at the very heart of everything I value about the BBC.  I am deeply disillusioned.

If this disastrous decision had resulted in a well administered service then that might be some consolation but not a bit of it.  It is dreadful.  Every bit as bad as any horror story you’ve heard about British Gas, BT or yes, even a bank.  This is the British consumer experience at its very worst.

Not What It Used To Be

In sharp contrast to the rest of the BBC’s websites, try making a complaint online.  It’s like something from the very early days of the internet with clumsy, badly aligned fields and an archaic feel.  I almost expect to hear a modem whistling away in the background.  From a complainant’s point of view it’s quite useless.  You don’t get any option to save a copy of your complaint or email it to yourself.  You don’t even get an acknowledgement once you’ve completed it so you’re left with a completely unsatisfactory feeling of uncertainty.  Did they get it or not?  Will I get a reply?  When?

It gets worse.  Complaints are lost.  They don’t get answered at all.  They certainly don’t get answered within the 10 working days promised.  One answer I received was just laughable in its anodyne, crass simplicity.  It was nothing more than an patronising acknowledgement of what I was “unhappy about”.

Useless

I could go on even further but I won’t.  It does get even worse and it becomes embarrassingly so when Capita start to trot out the oldest excuse of all about “system problems”.  It is an excruciatingly bad, defining example of appalling customer service.  I’d say it takes the biscuit.

All this is the inevitable result of outsourcing your complaints procedure.  That aspect of business that should be one of your most important tools.  What’s worse is that Capita are absolutely useless at doing the job.

It is no exaggeration to say that, for me, this rocks the very foundations of everything I believed about the BBC to the very core.  It is not the organisation I thought it was.  I feel betrayed.  I am “disgusted of Tunbridge Wells”.   In fact,  I am very, very, very disgusted of Weymouth, Dorset.

Keir Starmer Must Go

Failure

There can be no excuse for his gross dereliction of duty.  He has totally lost sight of the purpose of his job.  Whatever it takes to get rid of him, he must go.

Israel Must Be Brought To Heel

The Devil's Work

You can no longer use the excuse that your actions are a reaction to the persecution of your own people.  You have become, in every sense, just as bad as the Nazis.  Your arrogance, your brutality and criminality outweigh any moral latitude that you might once have been allowed.  You are a pariah state, evil institutionalised.

As you parade pretty, blonde apologists before TV cameras, so the world watches the children of Gaza die at your hands.

This is no longer a debate or a worthwhile discussion.  History will judge you as tyrants.  You must be stopped.

Who Will Stand Up For Justice?

with one comment

The CPS are dithering over the police murder at the G20 protest.   Just like the assault on Nicola Fisher, we all saw on television the attack on Ian Tomlinson which led directly to his death.   The delay in bringing charges in this matter is outrageous and already amounts to a miscarriage of justice.  Justice delayed is justice denied.

Keir Starmer, the Director of Public Prosecutions says he is working as quickly as he can on a careful investigation in “this difficult and complex case”.  See the full story here.

This is rubbish.  It is a pathetic excuse and I simply don’t believe him when he says he is having difficulty getting medical evidence.  Proceed without it!  The evidence is clear enough.  If the accused was anyone other than a police officer he would already be behind bars.

With the Smellie acquittal, this perversion of justice at the DPP’s own hands and the Newsnight story yesterday that people arrested at the Gaza protest are being treated as terrorists, we have reached a new low point in our history.

Those politicians, civil servants, police and legal officers who have allowed these events to unfold are guilty of treason.  They are destroying our country and our civilisation just as much as they could with bombs and bullets.

Size 0 – The Politically Incorrect Truth

Alexandra Shulman, editor of Vogue, has accused leading fashion designers of ignoring concerns about size zero models.

Poor, Pitiful Girl!

Poor, Pitiful Girl!

See here.

The uncomfortable truth is that all these designers are either homosexual or entirely submerged in the “gay” culture that infects their industry.  They aren’t interested in designing for beautiful women.  They want pretty boys.

The vast majority of us have a healthy interest in beautiful women in beautiful clothes.  These trivial but talented individuals are out of step, out of time and out of any more excuses.  They are responsible for too much misery and suffering.  The modern prevalence of anorexia and bulimia is almost entirely down to these brightly coloured, beautifully tailored, perverted fools.

It is time that wiser minds with far better taste prevailed.  Do what you want to do in the privacy of your own homes but leave our young women’s minds alone and turn your talent in a positive direction.

A Real Woman

2nd January 2012

Recently I have been subject to a vicious hate campaign in which this post has been circulated around the internet to support the false allegation that I am homophobic.

Therefore, and as I wrote it two and half years ago, I have carefully reviewed every word.

I stand by it 100%.  It says very clearly “Do what you want to do in the privacy of your own homes” and that is precisely my position.  I would defend the rights of all consenting adults to whatever sexual activity they want to indulge in with other consenting adults.

I can understand that the phrases “culture that infects” and “perverted fools” may upset some but this article was not written to be politically correct.  It was written to be provocative and to highlight the abuse that some gay men in positions of power are inflicting on vulnerable young women. Homosexuality is a perversion from the norm and gay culture has been allowed virtually to extinguish heterosexual influence in the fashion industry.

That anyone should choose to twist and distort my words in support of their vile allegations must say a lot about their motives and integrity.  I believe that their conduct is in fact far worse than that which they falsely accuse me of.  They are liars and dishonest, scheming perpetrators of a hate crime.  They seek to pervert the cause of gay rights for their own selfish ends.

MPs Evading Justice

So are we supposed to be surprised that Gordon Brown is still clinging by his fingernails to the architrave at the door of number 10?  They couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery, an orgy in an whorehouse or a coup in the Labour Party.  Why?  Because they all have nothing  but their own interests at heart.  Their last year in office, their pensions, their resettlement grants.  These are not men.  They are manipulative, morally microscopic mice.

Phwooaar! Gerrumorrf darlin'!

Phwooaar! Gerrumorrf darlin'!

Plod PR, the go-getting communications agency, wholly owned by the police with exclusively the police as clients summoned all its collective intelligence and wisdom to determine that last Friday, the day after the European and local elections would be a busy news day, a perfect occasion to bury their cowardly, disgraceful announcement that MPs will not be prosecuted.

In fact, the expenses scandal has now morphed into an excuse for poor performance in the elections.  This is a triumph of misinformation over truth.  Over the weekend, we were asked to sympathise over the “assault on MPs about their expenses”.  If what has happened has constitued assault then my feeling is that it’s time for some GBH with intent.

Everything has now been re-geared to enable them all to get away with it.  Perhaps even more worrying is that this marks a new development in the politicisation of the police.  Increasingly the police are being used to support and enforce the whim of government,  irrespective of the law or justice.

The Taxpayers’ Alliance is still chasing down MPs (see here) but what has happened to the Telegraph?  Have they had a visit in the middle of the night from the police or have big, fat, brown envelopes been distributed around Telegraph Towers – or both?
